Cast in Stone

Now cast in stone – or at least a showbiz-kind of stone that change circumstances on altered situations – the whole cast of Zsazsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh had its story conference 5 pm today, Friday, June 23.

Zsazsa Padilla as Zsazsa Zaturnnah, Rustom Padilla as Ada, Chocoleit as Didi, Pops Fernandez as Queen Femina Suarez Stellaroux and Alfred Vargas (in absenstia) as Dodong comprise the main cast of the movie adaptation of the beloved and awarded comic book characters of Carlo Vergara.

Playing support are Giselle Sanchez as Sharon C, Say Alonzo as Vilma S, Glaiza de Castro as Dina B and Kitkat as Nora A, Ms. Bella Flores as Aling Britney, Jim Pebangco as Father Bernie and Love Anover as the Announcer.

For the new characters infused in the movie, Pauleen Luna and Alwyn Uytingco play the young lovers Aruba and Poldo (Aru-Baby and Pol-voron), niece to Ada and brother to Dodong respectively; Carlo Maceda is Lester, Ada’s first love, Paolo Paraiso as Badong, Aling Britney’s regular date and Christian Vasquez as Mang Justin, Aling Britney’s husband.

Vince De Jesus will do the music, Lyle Sacris the cinematographer and Joel Lamangan the director.

Father's Day

Today is Father’s Day.

Early this week, we took our father, ret. Architect Abraham H. Erece, home from the hospital after a four-day stay. He was suffering Bronchopneumonia, was quite listless and rather surprisingly frail.

His CT-Scan result has been released. My dad has cancer in the lungs. Biopsy result is also out, it’s second stage malignant.

This hasn’t sunk in yet fully, I have yet to assess my feelings; should I be relieved that at least we know and that we can prepare or should I be devastated knowing he won’t stay long with us. It is so mix at this point but it has been draining something in me.

I am just as listless and my temper – famous for being short – is more volatile I just kicked my PC to become unusable just because my emails cannot go through.

While I cling to my mother more, my father and I never had any major disagreement, misunderstanding or an iota of gap in any manner and aspect. I remember the movies we watch together just the two of us and the shopping of school supplies. He was a good receiver of my jokes. Not once have I received any physical punishment from him.

I remember all the good times.

I just wish this is not the last Father’s Day he will be with us.

He has yet to see my first local movie, Manay Po, even just in DVD.
